Government Overview

APM provides services to local, state and Commonwealth government departments with specific emphasis on the provision of services to clients with a disability, injury or medical condition who are eligible for assistance from state or Commonwealth government departments.

APM is currently Australia’s largest private provider of Job Capacity Assessments (JCAs).  Job Capacity Assessments are undertaken by a range of professionals with expertise in assessing the impact of medical conditions on ability to work and experience in facilitating workforce participation for people with disabilities, illness or injury.

APM also provides services to state and Commonwealth government funded disability departments and service providers. APM supplies these agencies with services and assistance to help people with disabilities or health related concerns to increase social and economic participation in the Australian community.

APM's services have a particular emphasis on increasing workforce participation outcomes for people with injuries, illnesses, disabilities or disadvantage.

Work Injury Management

APM assists organisations to manage the cost and process of work injury management in the workplace.

Consultants work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that a successful return-to-work outcome is achieved quickly and effectively.

APM’s injury management services can be provided independently, or as part of a full occupational rehabilitation program.

Job Capacity Account (JCAc) services

APM’s Job Capacity Account (JCAc) services are short-term interventions designed to assist job seekers become work ready. APM provides JCAc programs from 317 sites in all states and territories Australia-wide.

Programs are conducted by trained professionals in a supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere and focus on improving the job seeker’s ability to cope with psychological issues in the context of obtaining employment.

How to request APM Job Capacity Account services:

Call (08) 9463 1396 and speak with the APM JCAc Service Coordinator.

Referral information will be collected and a JCAc appointment time provided.

Written confirmation of the JCAc appointment will then be forwarded to the JCA Assessor and client.

Pain Management

Psychological factors are important contributors to the intensity of pain and perceptions of disability associated with chronic medical conditions.

The APM Pain Management Program aims to review a job seeker’s attitudes, feelings and coping skills in an educative setting, with the purpose of instilling a sense of control in the job seeker with respect to the management of their condition.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

APM’s Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) program focusses on assisting a job seeker identify the links between their thought patterns and subsequent behaviours. CBT is based on the premise that thoughts directly cause feelings and behaviours.

APM’s CBT program concentrates on identifying a job seeker’s negative thought patterns and provides education and instruction on how they can replace these patterns with a sequence that will lead to more useful reactions and behaviours.
