Who is APM?

APM provides occupational rehabilitation services to people with injuries, disabilities or health conditions. Our staff are qualified health professionals, and include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and social workers.

What does APM do?

APM works with people with injuries, disabilities and health conditions, and helps them to rehabilitate back to work. This may include assisting with a return to work after injury, accident or illness, or assisting with managing the rehabilitation program during recovery.

If you have been referred to APM it is likely to be because you need help due to an injury, disability or health related condition. You are likely to have been referred to APM by an insurance company, employer, doctor or solicitor. Or, it may be because you have accessed your workplace Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

How can APM help?

The assistance that APM can provide will depend on who has referred you and why. This will be discussed with you more fully when you meet with your APM rehabilitation consultant. Our involvement is usually focused on either assisting you with returning to or remaining at work, or assessing your capacity for work.

Have you been referred?

When you have been referred to APM you will be contacted to make a time for your first appointment. When you come to APM, you will meet with a rehabilitation consultant who will give you more information about APM’s services and how we can help you.

What to bring?

For your first appointment at APM it would be helpful if you bring the following information:

  • Any recent medical information

  • Contact details of your doctor, physiotherapist or any other treating health professionals

  • A copy of your resume and any details of training or volunteer work you have completed

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Some organisations provide their employees with a free confidential counselling service called an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This is a counselling service for staff and their families to access for personal and work-related advice.

If you would like to self-refer to APM’s Employee Assistance Program, call 1800 267 443 to schedule an appointment.
