APM works closely with doctors and health professionals to improve the social and economic participation of individuals with disability, injury or health related conditions in the Australian community. At APM, we view our involvement with you as a partnership, both working to achieve the optimum outcome for the individual involved.
Individuals referred to us may be the recipient of Workers' Compensation, Life Insurance, Medico-Legal or Compulsory Third Party (CTP) compensation benefits, seeking Activity Test exemption from Centrelink (JCA), or may have been referred for some other reason related to an injury, disability or medical condition.
Our involvement with your patient may range from short, discreet services to full workplace rehabilitation programs. With your patient's permission, we may contact you in the course of delivering these services. You can are also refer your patient directly to us.
Indicators for referral may include:
• Lack of clarity regarding available duties or workplace modification
• More than seven days off work
• The injury is psychological (e.g. stress, anxiety) - APM offers Psychology, Counselling Intervention and Clinical Treatment Services
• There have been repeat illnesses or claims of injury
We can assist you by providing valuable information regarding the workplace, duties, etc. Our
Consultants are also happy to meet with you to case conference individual cases in order to identify and resolve barriers to progress.
