APM has successfully secured a contract with the Australian Government to provide Vocational Rehabilitation Services to you. APM operates within and adheres to the Employment Services Code of Practice and the Disability Services Standards to ensure you receive the high quality service provision you deserve.

As a national provider of vocational rehabilitation and employment services, APM are pleased to offer employers a free, specialised recruitment and placement service.

With today’s tightening labour market, Australia is facing a potential employment shortfall in the coming years. Currently over 20% (3.96 million) of Australian’s have a disability. Through our comprehensive knowledge, commitment and experience, APM specialises in providing employment assistance for jobseekers with an injury, disability or health condition.

Many people with disabilities require only minor adjustments and support to participate in the workplace and research demonstrates a strong case for employing these people, who are currently under-represented in today’s modern working environment. These benefits include positive effects on employer satisfaction, less absenteeism, fewer accidents, improved morale, retention and workplace productivity.

Jobseeker Initial Assessment
APM consultants conduct thorough Initial Assessments with all of their clients to provide detailed insight into the following areas:

  • Vocational goal(s)

  • Physical competencies

  • Individual temperament and motivation

  • Availability

Arranging Interviews and Work Trials
APM consultants can assist with arranging job interviews and work trials for their clients. Consultants will also act as the liaison person for notifying clients of their successful or unsuccessful application.

Ongoing Client and Jobseeker Support

Jobseeker Screening and Job Match
APM consultants will provide jobseekers whose competencies are matched appropriately to each individual vacancy, in a timely manner. Working intensely with their clients ensures that consultants have a sound understanding of each client’s ability to carry out the specific tasks and duties of a specific position. If required, each jobseeker’s resume can be made available for review, or alternatively a jobseeker profile can be developed tailored to your specifications.

 

Wage Subsidy Scheme


Wage subsidies provide a financial incentive to eligible employers when considering the employment of job seekers with disability or with other barriers to employment. Wage subsidies are payments made to employers to help cover the costs of paying wages in the first few months of employment of a person with disability.

Wage subsidies may be provided to employers to increase the competitiveness of job seekers with disability when seeking employment in open labour market conditions. It can also be used to address any additional demands an employer may perceive exist or experience in establishing an employee with disability into the workplace compared to other employees.

APM can offer you the following complimentary services

  • Explanation of the Wage Subsidy Scheme (WSS), the potential benefits to your company and details of the guidelines

  • Assistance to identify applicants and suitable positions within your company

  • Negotiate individual subsidies of up to $1650 (including GST) per worker

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to the workplace

Workplace Modifications Scheme


The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) have developed the Workplace Modifications Scheme (WMS) to encourage and support employment of eligible people with disability by providing financial assistance for the cost of modifications and adjustments that may be needed to a workplace.

APM offer the following complimentary services to Employers

  • Explanation of the Workplace Modification Scheme (WMS), the potential benefits to your company and details of the guidelines

  • Assistance to identify the need for modifications and the type of modification or assistance that may be appropriate in your workplace

  • Advice and assistance, if required, to prepare and submit a WMS application.

  • Upon a successful WMS application, assistance to implement the approved equipment/modification

  • Ongoing support and assistance with WMS and other workplace issues.

  • Workplace assessments

APM are experienced at

  • Understanding the WMS guidelines

  • Assessing potential eligibility

  • Writing WMS applications

  • Implementing and supporting employers with equipment, modifications and training

  • Working in partnership with employers

WMS funds have been used in the past to provide employment related modifications to vehicles, purchase specific software and communication technology, training relating to the modifications, specific job related equipment, physical or environmental workplace adjustments such as ramps, specific lighting and workstation adjustments.

 

Workplace Assessment

APM rehabilitation consultants are skilled in determining work capacity and conducting workplace assessments to ensure jobseekers are placed into safe and sustainable employment.

Our team of occupational therapists and ergonomists are experienced at undertaking: workplace assessments of the factors which directly impact on a job seeker’s capacity to perform a prescribed job and the physical, cognitive, sensory and environmental demands of the job.

A workplace assessment is an important tool to assist in determining the job seekers ability to undertake the work offered by an employer and giving an employer extra confidence that they have the right job seeker for their company.

APM can offer you the following complimentary services

  • Visiting your workplace and discussing workplace assessments

  • A qualified professional to conduct a workplace assessment

  • Providing detailed report of the duties and physical demands

  • Undertaking ergonomic assessments of workstations/vehicles as appropriate

  • Providing workplace training in regard to manual handling and/or safe work techniques if required

  • Consideration of any required workplace modifications

  • Working in partnership with employers
