APM's Workplace Training aims to maximise staff knowledge and skills to enable them to perform their duties safely and efficiently and therefore minimising the human and financial cost of injuries in the workplace.

APM provides innovative training solutions, delivered by qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Exercise Physiologists.

The following are examples of specific courses that have been tailored to meet various employer requirements:


Ergonomic Training

APM's Ergonomic Training aims to increase staff knowledge and awareness of anatomy and the functional implications of poor postures.

The provision of Ergonomic Training and Single Service Ergonomic Assessments assists our customers with early intervention injury prevention and management strategies, which has proven successful in minimising the occurrence, and the associated human, social and economic cost of work related injury and illness.

APM's qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists provide Ergonomic Training tailored to the needs of the group or the individual.

Manual Handling Training

APM's Manual Handling Training aims to increase staff knowledge and awareness of the functional implications of manual handling techniques, in conjunction with provision and demonstration of correct techniques.

This is achieved by ensuring content is as relevant to the workforce as possible and by implementing strategies to ensure concepts are practiced on a daily basis.

APM's qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Exercise Physiologists can provide Manual Handling Training that is tailored to the needs of the group or the individual.

Psychological Workplace Training

APM's Psychological Workplace Training Services give access to effective and meaningful training regarding:

Return to Work Coordinator Training (NSW only)

It is compulsory for all nominated Return to Work Coordinators in NSW to have undertaken the WorkCover accredited two-day course ‘Introduction to return to work coordination'. APM conducts this course regularly in various offices throughout NSW.

Training can involve group or individual sessions, which are customised to each corporation.

Under workers' compensation law in NSW, Category 1 employers* must have a Return to Work Coordinator. A Return to Work Coordinator is an employee nominated by an employer, whose principal purpose is to assist injured workers to return to work in a safe and durable manner. The Return to Work Coordinator ensures that the policies and procedures in an employer's return to work program are followed.

* Employers whose basic tariff premium exceeds $50,000, as well as self insurers, and employers who are insured by a specialised insurer and who employ more than 20 workers.
