Further expansion in New Zealand

The deal means APM's New Zealand subsidiary, APM WorkCare, has taken over Pelim's operations, strengthening APM's status in this market and broadening APM WorkCare's service offering.

"The acquisition of Pelim is another exciting chapter for APM," said APM Managing Director, Megan Wynne.

"It is a company with a similar history and philosophy to APM and these are key aspects that our team is keen to preserve and build on.

The new APM WorkCare enhances our commitment to helping people and to government as a client in the New Zealand market."

Additional services to be provided by the new APM WorkCare include community-based rehabilitation, assistance with housing modifications, therapy input and concussion services.

APM WorkCare has been operating in New Zealand since 2011, delivering employment, vocational rehabilitation, injury prevention and management, assessment, allied health and occupational health and safety management services.

Services are delivered direct to employers, as well as on behalf of Accident Compensation Corporation (vocational rehabilitation services) and the New Zealand Government's Ministry of Social Development (employment services).

Since it was established by Ms Mary-Anne Hewitt in 2004, Pelim has built a reputation as a trusted local service which empowers people to get their lives back on track.

"APM is working to ensure the transition to one organisation is as smooth as possible," said APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday.

"The new APM WorkCare will provide a base for us to expand our services by opening up additional business lines in New Zealand."

The new APM WorkCare has almost 300 staff, including contractors.
