Launch of Maroochydore Jump Start campaign

Aiming to place 85 job seekers into work during a campaign period of four weeks, Maroochydore Jump Start will kick off at 7:30 tomorrow morning at Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club with a business networking breakfast.

"APM's Maroochydore team will be talking to local employers about the free services APM offers at the launch," APM's Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Hobday said.

"As well as helping employers find suitable employees, APM also provides post-placement support, ensuring that job seekers and employers continue to be a good fit."

Two local employers will also speak at the breakfast about their experiences with APM.

This is the fifth Jump Start employment campaign that APM has run in Australia.

The others have been in the western suburbs of Melbourne and the Coffs Coast and Clarence Valley areas in regional NSW, as well as Geraldton in Western Australia.

This is the first time candidates will be placed from both mainstream and disability employment programs (in the past, Jump Start has focused on job seekers with disability only).

Mr Hobday said APM's extensive reach was an asset in providing tailored assistance to job seekers all over the country.

"APM's national and rural reach means we are able to run targeted campaign such as these, and in doing so nurture happier and more economically secure individuals, families and communities," Mr Hobday said.

"We invite employers in Maroochydore to make contact with their local APM team to find out more."

Jump Start is being launched by APM with national partner Programmed and in conjunction with the National Disability Coordination Officer Programme.
