Mel and Claire's walk for lupus

Published on 28 Apr 2016

APM staff Mel Jones and Claire Peake are set to embark upon a sponsored walk in aid of the Hibbs Lupus Trust.

The ladies from Staffordshire will be joining the UK's Annual World Lupus Day Walk in Cannock Chase on Sunday 8th May.

You can donate via their Just Giving page.

Lupus is an autoimmune condition, which attacks and inflames healthy cells, tissue and organs.

The most common symptoms include extreme tiredness, rashes (particularly on the face, wrists and hands) and joint pain and swelling.

Even mild cases can be distressing and have a considerable impact on a person's quality of life.

The five mile walk will raise funds for Hibbs Lupus Trust, a team of volunteers whose lives have all been affected by the condition.

The charity carries out vital work to raise awareness and understanding of the condition and provide support to those who often feel isolated as a result of their experiences.

All funds go directly to the charity and you have the option of using Gift Aid which increases the size of your donation.
